Are you a pro-active person or a re-active person? Organize your life to be proactive. Don’t regret anything in your life. You make the decisions for you. Your the programmer, you write the program. What’s a proactive person anyway? Keep reading, no one wants to be on a road to no where.
Are you in-charge of your own life, or are you dependant on someone else’s suggestions? Have you made a plan, for where you want to be in your life and how your going to get there? Sometimes we have something in our lives that we would love nothing more than, to-do. Maybe it’s a career change at 40, and your spouse says your too old. Maybe it’s giving away your full time job, and expensive mortgage. Becoming a full time writer, and moving to a small cabin in Alaska.
Instead of finding out how you can go about making the change, you listen to other people or a person who tells you to forget it. They say, “it’s too hard, your too old, your not good enough, it’s too expensive, too hot, too cold, maybe in ten years time, or yeah yeah get me a drink, among many other negative statements.
This may be true, when it comes to them. But not you. You can do anything that you set your mind too. Remember most people give up before they even start. Most people set their sites on being a success at something that’s middle of the road. With so much competition for the middle of the road, why not set your sights higher, aim for the highest and the best that you can be. It’s far less crowded at the top because, most people give up before they even start.
We sell ourselves short, by not following our dreams. It’s a sad thing. We only live once so it’s important that we become the story teller of our own lives. It’s important to set goals, organize life and become proactive in our life.
You see, a proactive person is someone who is not guided by feelings, and by external things that are going on around them. That’s a re-active person.
Someone that says, “It’s not my fault, I have a menial job. I didn’t work very hard at school because I was going to be a pro golf player. But then, my parents couldn’t afford to send me to the top coach in the country, and It was too hard practising by myself all the time, so now I’m stuck in this job, with no prospects of doing any better in the future. My parents fault.” And how old did you say you were now? 35 and still blaming your parents. Re-active.
Get Organized
Time to get organized and become proactive. Your the programmer. Program your life the way you want it to be. Stop making excuses. And your never too old.
To get organized and become proactive, is possible at any time in your life. Remember your the programmer. You write the program.
Here’s a story about someone who needed to write a program. Who, if they had made some firm decisions, and a plan, could have avoided, even nearly losing her head.
The famous story of Alice in Wonderland by C.S.Lewis

img The very first Alice
If you know the story, you’ll remember, Alice fell asleep and in her dreams, dream’t that she fell down a hole, and ended up in Wonderland. All through the story Alice, was sent in this direction and that, by the different characters that she ran into. Alice was in no sense, organized. She was totally unorganized, and just like a leaf, was blown around by the breeze, and taken on a huge, long, at sometimes incredibly frightening journey. And, all because she was not the person who was the programmer of her life. She was being irresponsible and re-active.

Sketch of Alice img
At one time during the story, Alice asked a cheshire cat, `Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?’
`That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,’ said the Cat.
`I don’t much care where–’ said Alice.
`Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,’ said the Cat.
`–so long as I get SOMEWHERE,’ Alice added as an explanation.
`Oh, you’re sure to do that,’ said the Cat, `if you only walk long enough.’

Do you know where your going?
Sometimes, we forget to make plans, for the direction, in which we are going. Like Alice, we are just getting blown around, from this place, and job, and person. Without being organized. We are not being proactive with our life. We are simply being re-active. We are reacting to any situation, in which we find ourselves. Some of us, haven’t made new plans, and are stuck doing things we may have choses to do, a long time ago. We might not even remember, why we even decided to do, the particular thing in the first place.

Don’t let things get in your way img
In Alice’s case, she finds herself, eventually in a really frightening place. Faced by the scary Queen of Hearts, whose main role in life, was to scream, “off with their heads“. She even at one time, screamed that about poor Alice. Lucky for Alice, the rabbit, who was always running late, somehow got her out of it. See where being re-active can lead you.

Alice was not being the programmer of her life. It nearly cost her, her head. When the caterpillar asked Aice, where she wanted to go, If Alice had of been pro active, she would have asked the caterpiller for the directions back home.

Don’t let the mad hatters send you astray img
Are you asking the wrong people about, where, and what, you should be doing with your life?
Your the person who needs to become proactive in your own life and write your own program.

Goals and Making a Plan
It’s time to become the programmer of your life. You write the program. Just like a computer programmer. You know what you want out of life. The quickest way to get there, is to sit down, with some paper and a pen and decide what you want from each part of your life. You write the program. You organize exactly what you’ll do. It’s your life. Don’t let anyone tell you what you should do. No one knows your life and you better than you. At least that way, your doing it the way you want to do it. Your responsible for your own life. At least if you failed, you failed trying.
What are the next most important things img
How to write your program
Sit down with your planner and write down all the things that you are in your life. Mine would say,
- I’m a mum
- I’m a wife
- I’m a housekeeper
- I’m a household manager What’s the one thing that you do supremely well. The thing that, if you were to totally concentrate on it, above all else, would make a huge difference in your life.
- I’m a daughter
- I’m a sister
- I’m a friend
- I’m sales and marketing manager for Thoms Industries
- I’m the writer of Routine Habit Blog
Now under each heading. Simply write, the most important thing, that you do, in each of your main area’s in life.
Next write down the thing that you love most to do, under each heading.
Now lastly, What’s the one thing that you do supremely well. The thing that, if you were to totally concentrate on it, above all else, would make a huge difference in your life.
These three things, from each category should give you a good idea, of working out your plans for now.

This exercise will give you an automatic direction, to head in, in each of the most important area’s of your life.
In the story of Alice. She eventually asked the right question. Which for her at time was,
“which way should I go, in order to get home?“
Once she asked, the right question. She was given the right answer, and was shown the way, back home.
Don’t be like Alice and wait too long, to ask the right questions, about organizing your life, your work and your relationships. Ask yourself the right questions, and become proactive.
You become the programmer of your life. It’s your life, you only get one, so make it a pro-active one.
